On this special occasion of Isese Day 2026, I extend my warmest greetings and best wishes to all traditional worshippers and adherents of our indigenous traditions in Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State and beyond.
Isese is more than a celebration; it is a reflection of our rich cultural heritage, history, identity, values and enduring connection with our roots. It provides an opportunity to appreciate the traditions handed down to us by generations before us and to preserve them for generations yet unborn.
As a government, we recognise the invaluable contributions of our traditional institutions, cultural custodians and traditional worshippers to the preservation of our heritage and the promotion of peace, unity and community development.
Alimosho is a diverse and inclusive community, and our strength lies in our ability to accommodate and respect our different beliefs, cultures and traditions. We shall continue to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and equal opportunity for all residents, irrespective of religious or cultural affiliation.
As we celebrate this year’s Isese Day, I urge all traditional worshippers to uphold the noble values of peace, love, communal responsibility, respect for humanity and peaceful coexistence which strengthen our communities.
May this celebration bring peace, joy, prosperity and continued blessings to all traditional worshippers and residents of Alimosho.
Let us continue to cherish our heritage, preserve our traditions and work together to build an Alimosho where unity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence remain the foundation of our collective progress.
Happy Isese Day 2026!
Long live our traditions.
Long live unity.
Long live Alimosho Local Government.
Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, Executive Chairman Alimosho Local Government.
