The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, on Monday participated in the Lagos State Y2026 Budget Consultative Forum, convened by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
The forum, held for stakeholders in the Ikeja Division, was designed to review the implementation of the 2025 budget while setting priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
In his address, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, outlined key achievements of the Sanwo-Olu administration across the division.
He also presented strategic plans for the 2026 financial year, in line with the state government’s T.H.E.M.E.S development agenda.
Speaking with journalists after the session, Hon. Akinpelu Johnson commended the ministry for what he described as an exemplary display of accountability and transparency in governance.
“Lagos has remained a pacesetter in governance. What we have seen today is exactly how government should operate—by rendering accounts to the people it serves,” he said.
“The Commissioner and his team have done a commendable job of explaining how state resources are being utilized and how future spending is being projected.”
The Alimosho Council boss further assured that local governments would align with the state’s vision by entrenching accountability in grassroots administration.
“As a government closest to the people, we will replicate these values in our operations. Every stakeholder will have a say in how funds are spent, and transparency will remain our guiding principle,” Johnson added.
