In a bid to strengthen grassroots sports and empower budding talents, Hon. Kehinde Olaide Joseph, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Alimosho Constituency II, has donated N1 million to the 4th edition of the SEAMORIOW U-15 League Tournament.
The competition, held at Islamiyyah in Abaranje, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, drew the participation of community leaders and sports enthusiasts, including former Golden Eaglets coach, Mr. Nduka Ugbade, and the council chairman, Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya.
Addressing participants, Hon. Joseph lauded Comrade Akinsanya for creating an enabling environment for youth-focused initiatives.
He also commended the tournament convener, Mr. Oluseyi Amos, for his commitment to discovering and grooming young football talents.
The lawmaker emphasized that investment in youth and sports development is pivotal to shaping future champions while steering youths away from societal vices.
He further appealed to local governments across Lagos State to prioritize the construction of community stadia to provide safe and accessible spaces for talent discovery and career growth.
“Grassroots sports is where the future of Nigerian football lies. With the right structures in place, we can raise stars who will make our communities and the nation proud,” he stated.
Hon. Kehinde Joseph, widely regarded as a grassroots-friendly legislator, has consistently invested in youth empowerment and community development.
His latest intervention in the SEAMORIOW U-15 League once again reflects his commitment to nurturing the next generation through sports.
