The Executive Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has inaugurated a capacity-building training programme for council employees in a renewed effort to strengthen institutional efficiency and enhance staff performance.

The training, which commenced on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Alimosho Multi-Purpose Hall, was designed specifically for Clerical Officers and drew a large attendance from across various departments within the council.

The initiative stems from the Chairman’s earlier pledge during a Staff Forum held on August 15, 2025, to invest in human capital development and promote a culture of professionalism in the local government’s workforce.

Declaring the session open, Hon. Akinpelu emphasized that the programme is in line with his administration’s vision to build a skilled, efficient, and ethically responsible workforce capable of translating government policies into tangible community benefits.

“Policies and development projects can only succeed when executed by competent and motivated personnel. This training is part of our continuous effort to ensure our staff remain knowledgeable and driven,” he stated.

He encouraged participants to take full advantage of the learning opportunity and to apply the lessons in their daily operations to improve service delivery to residents of Alimosho.

The resource person, Venerable Adeniyi Ajayi, a veteran public administrator, led insightful sessions on Public Service Rules and the Code of Ethics governing civil servants.

Participants also benefited from a health awareness segment focused on workplace stress management and overall staff well-being.

According to the Head of Administration, Dr. Idowu Banjoko, the training exercise will be conducted in phases to ensure that all categories of staff benefit from the programme.

At the close of the event, Certificates of Participation were presented to attendees by Hon. Akinpelu Johnson and Dr. Banjoko, symbolizing the council’s commitment to continuous staff development and capacity enhancement.
