Fulfilling his campaign promises, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has officially flagged off the construction of Old Iyana Ipaja Road โ a major access route within the market that connects several adjoining streets.
The event brought excitement and relief to traders and residents who have long awaited the rehabilitation of the busy road. Many expressed joy and appreciation for the chairmanโs prompt action and commitment to his word.
The Chairman stated, โAs little as it may be, we wonโt leave anything unattended to in our campaign promises to the good people of Alimosho. During the electioneering period, the same spot we are standing today was where I promised to construct this road โ and today, we are here to fulfill that promise.โ
He further urged residents and traders to cooperate with the contractors during the construction period, noting that, โThere may be slight inconveniences while the work is ongoing, but it wonโt take more than 12 weeks or less. You elected us to serve you, and it is our duty to deliver on that mandate.โ
A visibly elated trader, Mr. Nnamdi John, who has been operating in the market for over eight years, shared his excitement, โToday is one of my happiest days. Seeing the government finally fixing this road is a great relief. It will make it easier for customers to drive in. May God bless the Chairman and his team.โ
Accompanying the Chairman to the ceremony were: the Vice Chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi; the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Rasheed Semiu; the Council Manager, Dr. Idowu Banjoko; alongside other members of the Legislative Arm and the Management Team.
