Alimosho Flags Off Community-Based Child Nutrition Intervention to Combat Malnutrition

Alimosho Local Government has officially flagged off a community-based nutrition intervention targeted at addressing malnutrition among children aged 0โ€“5 years within the local government area.

Speaking at the programme, the Chairman warmly welcomed stakeholders, partners, caregivers, and beneficiaries to the initiative, describing it as a timely and impactful response to one of the most pressing child health challenges facing communities today.

The intervention, implemented through a strategic collaboration between the Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) and the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), focuses on vulnerable children and their caregivers within District I of Alimosho Local Government. About 120 children and their caregivers are expected to benefit directly from the programme.

Malnutrition, the Chairman noted, remains a critical issue that affects child survival, growth, and overall development, with long-term implications for societal health and productivity if left unaddressed.
