*Alimosho LG Hosts Sensitisation Programme on Procurement Challenges*

Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) has hosted a sensitization programme aimed at enlightening stakeholders on the challenges facing procurement processes in local government and local council development areas in the state.The event, held at the council’s Multi-purpose Hall, on Monday, October 20, 2025, brought together professionals,

dignitaries, and stakeholders as well as procurement officers from various local governments and local council development areas in Lagos State.In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Alimosho LGA, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, emphasized the significance of procurement in service delivery, highlighting its role in constructing roads, schools, health centres, and providing basic social amenities.

He commended the Lagos State Government for strengthening procurement processes and prioritized compliance, resource management, and staff development in his administration.The Director General of Public Procurement Agency (PPA), Director Ambali Oluwakemi, discussed the challenges facing procurement, including unskilled personnel, short notice for procurement processes, lack of technology, and inadequate ICT. He advocated for due diligence in procurement to achieve cost-effective projects and create a win-win situation for all parties.The programme featured questions and answers, with Director Ambali addressing concerns of the attendees.

The Council Manager, Dr. Idowu Banjoko Oludaisi praised the Chairman for his commitment to due process and procurement, while highlighting Hon. Akinpelu’s achievements in all departments and units in the local government.The event was attended by Vice Chairman of Alimosho LG, Hon. Adebisi Francis; Alimosho legislative arm members led by Leader of the House, Hon. Rasheed Olamilekan Semiu; royal fathers, His Royal Majesties Elegbeda of Egbeda, Oba Hameed Omogoriola Orelope-Laka, Alaye of Orisunmbare, Oba Akibu Adebowale Rauf ably represented by High Chief Shakiru Odofin; Vice Chairmen of Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Comrade Tayo Ayinde Ikotun-Igando LCDA, Prince Adewunmi Dada, Agbado Oke-odo LCDA, Hon.
